1. Better on phone and tablets.
2. Parents and Alums can sign into CampInTouch from our Home page.
3. News postings organized – and now you can search by word in past posts.  A fun way to see photos of something specific.
4 .E-Mail Newsletter  – a change from our RSS feed to Constant Contact e-mails.  Sign up at the bottom on any page of the website.   If you are signed up for this service already, you received the e-mail on January 29th announcing this post.

And now to our news.

100 Year Old Woheloite – We are so pleased to hear that Margorie Poole turned 100 this past year.  She worked in the kitchen  from 1964 to 1976 in both Little and Sebago Wohelo.

After a Meal Knitting is how many may remember her:)

Below photo of her with a young Lloyd Murray on left.  Lloyd then worked for over 20 years at Wohelo and during that time recruited and later married Tammy our current cook for over 30 years.

Happy Belated Birthday!

People are surprised that Sebago still isn’t frozen after the cold weather in the East.  At over 350 feet deep and 6 miles across it takes quite a bit to freeze this section, and it has been happening less and less.

Boulders Cove has been frozen since DecemberIf we could just get the ski boat to that flat water…..

This is about where the ice line has been most of the winter.   Point to Rookies Island.

Mount Washington and Shipwreck Island

Little Wohelo 1977 photo from the yearbook.   Does anyone know what is going on here?  Charlie, JoAnne and Elin don’t.

E-mail wohelo@wordpress-504287-1599653.cloudwaysapps.com if you remember.

We had wonderful visits this month all over the Northeast.  Thanks so much to our hosts!  It gets us so excited for this summer.  From top to bottom – DC, Philadelphia, Cumberland, (missed Beverly), Greenwich and New York City.

Wohelo Alumnae Liz Stefany.  Read this DownEast Magazine Article    –  “Stefany grew up in New Hampshire, but spent her summers at an all-girls camp on Sebago Lake, where she made her first silver pendant”

Above are some cool Wohelo Bird earrings that Jimmy asked Liz to make as a gift for Kat.  What a good Timanous boy!

The Maine Historical Society recently posted the below photo at their site https://www.mainememory.net/artifact/10238c

Chansonneta Emmons spent at least one summer at Wohelo and took many photos, some of which we currently have in our Archives.   Here is one group we have scanned from the glass slide collection – 3″ x 4″ Glass Slides

We used one of these photos in the 2018 Calendar that we mailed to campers with their yearbooks this December.
We have a few left for sale – $5 including shipping.  Camp Store
(the calendars are in focus in real life)

Almost 108 years after that photo, same view.  January 18th, 2018 Sunset
