The Importance of Seven Weeks
Through our long history, we believe in the importance of our seven-week program and the positive impact it has on our campers’ experiences and the camp community as a whole. Seven weeks allow campers to cultivate friendships, build confidence, and learn life-long skills. Campers return home feeling independent, strong, and proud of who they are. While the rest of the world is increasingly hectic, Wohelo is not. A summer at Wohelo represents a series of life-changing experiences that will benefit girls for the rest of their lives.
What a weekend! Wohelobration brought together 90+ former campers and counselors for a reunion that was everything we hoped it would be. From the moment friends stepped back onto the shores of Sebago, it felt like no time had passed at all. Stories were swapped, songs were sung, and laughter carried across the lake just like it always has.
We packed so much joy into the weekend. Old traditions blended seamlessly with new memories—swims in Sebago, a triathlon, delicious Tammy and Emily meals, and plenty of time to sit and reconnect. Everywhere you looked, there were smiles, hugs, and that unmistakable Wohelo spirit.
Perhaps the best part was hearing camp stories echo across generations. Alumni shared their favorite memories, re-lived old adventures, and created new ones to carry forward. The lake, the cabins, the paths—all felt alive with a renewed sense of community.
We are grateful to the talented Wohelo artists who donated their beautiful creations to the silent auction. From paintings to honey, their work captured the spirit of camp and gave us all something truly special to treasure. And to everyone who participated in the bidding—thank you! Together, you raised over $9,000 for Wohelo scholarships. These funds will directly support future campers, helping more children experience the magic of Wohelo and the lifelong friendships, growth, and memories it inspires.
Wohelobration was more than just a reunion; it was a reminder of the lifelong connections and the deep love for this special place that binds us all. We can’t wait for the next one!
What a great summer! We’re thankful for all of the campers who joined us at Wohelo in 2025. We know it’s no small thing for families to drop campers off for 3.5 or 7 weeks, and we hope that families notice the confidence, skills, and friendships they’ve built here.
This is a truly spectacular community. Every camper should be proud—not only of what they’ve accomplished individually, but in the way they have shown up for each other. They have been flexible when plans changed, enthusiastic when new challenges arose, and generous with their encouragement and teamwork.
Over the summer, they have…
– Jumped off the new, higher Lewa tower with boldness and laughter.
– Sat at a workbench, sawing their silver piece with focus and creativity.
– Righted a capsized boat with calm grit.
– Rallied through long tennis matches.
– Danced, acted, and pushed themselves as performers.
– Paused to spot and identify birds by sight and sound.
– Started fires using a bow, a spindle, and a ton of heart.
– Gotten up on waterskis after trying again and again and again.
– Made new friends, strengthened old ones, and laughed until their sides hurt.
Every day has been full of moments like these—big and small—that add up to a summer none of us will forget. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank our campers for helping make Wohelo such a vibrant, caring, and joyful place.
We wrapped up another two wonderful weeks of Family Camp at Wohelo this summer! Families joined us to swim, sail, relax, and reconnect.

A special thank you to our incredible counselors, TGs, and staff. This team did a fantastic job building community and supporting campers in activities, cabins, the dining halls, and beyond. We are deeply grateful for the hard work, thoughtful care, and constant positivity they brought to camp. They lifted each other up, gave campers their best, and never forgot to have fun. We are so proud to have worked alongside such spectacular people this summer.

As soon as camp ended, our Wo Workforce got down to business on off-season projects. A new Lewa Teba floor was first on the list. Our delayed Lewa Dock rebuild has begun. The team is busy fixing up cabins, boats, docks, and more. We’re so thankful for this awesome team!
