Fun winter Wohelo story……
One morning this winter Charlie Hewson, who had spent the night at Kate Fricker’s house, was looking out at Shipwreck Island (above) and saw some animal swimming out to the island making all sorts of splashing. She was concerned it was a dog or something injured and called down to Mark and Quincy at Point. In a fluster of tripods, cameras and telescopes we were able to determine what the story was.
A Bald Eagle had caught a very large fish near the island. Since the fish was so large the bird could not take off and had to “Swim” with it’s wings to get to the island. In the bottom blow up you can make out there are two Bald Eagles on the island. The one up on the rock is eating the large fish.
