Getting Ready for Summer

A busy month with an Alumnae wedding and a big group for Spruce up Weekend.  It is really starting to feel like the campers should be here soon.  We can’t wait to see everyone. Whitney Anderson (Little Wohelo 1989-1990, Sebago Wohelo 1995 and 2000) , daughter of Lyn Flather Anderson, 1966-1975 and 1989-1990, was married at Wohelo this month.  They did a tremendous job of preparing for the wedding and it was such fun to see

Spring Wohelo Update

Two exciting publications this month.  A new Little Wohelo Songbook and a BIG article on Wohelo in the newest Maine. Magazine. Halsey and Anne Hutchinson did a wonderful job in putting the songs to sheet music.  Hannah and Heidi cut out the graphics and hand taped them into the original.   Now printed in a nice spiral binder with cover.  We  are selling them for $4 at camp or $10 including shipping.   CAMP STORE 12 pages

What happened to Winter at Wohelo?

Bare ground still and only the occasional snow flake this whole winter.  The lake should be warm this summer. Warm water will mesh well with our newest activity at Wohelo, Wake Surfing.   The “ZIP”, above,  our old Chris Craft,  moved into a museum last year and our replacement is a 23 foot wakesurfing boat (as yet to be named…..).  It is like waterskiing but the boat is going much slower and you surf on the

Fritz found this piece of ice that looks like Maine Heidi and Mark just finished a whirlwind tour around the east coast with our gatherings.  We had a blast seeing everyone and thanks so much to all our wonderful hosts. Happy Halloween from Wohelo

It has been a spectacular fall in Maine.  Snow already fallen on Mount Washington. We are sorry to say  that our oldest Alum,  Hop Littell, whose 100 Birthday was announced last year in our newsletter, passed away this August.  She was a wonderful part of Wohelo for many years. From her Eulogy – For thirty summers she served at Camp Wohelo on Sebago Lake in Maine. At Wohelo she was known as Peggity Hop Gazelle Littell, and

Family Camp

Two wonderful weeks of Family Camp just ended with lots of activities and friends. We had two of our youngest campers ever here, I don’t think their ages added up to three months together!  They got lots of socializing in during the week with lots of happy people to hold them. It is never too early to plan for Wohelo.  We already have a number of girls registered for summer 2016 and have planned the dates for our
