Winter has been stumbling along so far.  As of the new year we had almost no snow on the ground.  Below photo from December 12th of the other side of the lake (6 miles away) with the snow line almost making it down to us.

Even when we got snow it got washed away by rain too soon.

We’ve had some amazingly calm days with the lake  like one big sheet of glass.

With the lake that calm it just takes a little cold to form ice, like the thin layer at Little Wohelo beach for this January dip (Rachel and Liana Margolese sporting the red suits and Fritz and Penny representing the Van Winkles).

Today, January 5th, is not one of those days.  The only ice forming this day is on shore, spray reaching all the way to the windows of the Sebago Wohelo dining hall

We are still holding out hope for lots of snow.   They told us that all the pine cones this fall meant it would be a big winter…..
